COBOL System Engineer

We are looking for a skilled COBOL System Engineer to join our team. This role combines development, core-systems operations, and automation within a Micro Focus and Control-M environment.

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain core systems using
    Micro Focus COBOL
    and
    Control-M
  • Perform version upgrades, environment synchronization between development and production
  • Handle production issues and provide ongoing support
  • Develop automation scripts and utilities in Python to optimize processes
  • Work in a Windows environment in close collaboration with System and Infrastructure teams
  • Manage code versions, branching and merge requests using Git and GitLab

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of hands-on
    COBOL development
    experience (Micro Focus preferred)
    - Must
  • Strong experience with
    Git/GitLab
    for
    version control
    and branching workflows
    - Must
  • Practical experience developing
    Python
    scripts, tools and interfaces
    - Must
  • Solid understanding of
    Windows
    environments at a system level
    - Must
  • Willingness to support production incidents during non-standard hours
    - Must
