As a Automation Engineer at Windward, you'll immerse yourself in the fascinating world of maritime data, conducting research and analysis using Python, SQL, and occasionally Java. Your insights will drive strategic decisions and shape the future of our products.
As a Automation Engineer at Windward, you'll immerse yourself in the fascinating world of maritime data, conducting research and analysis using Python, SQL, and occasionally Java. Your insights will drive strategic decisions and shape the future of our products.
What will you do?
- Write Python code to extract and analyze data from various sources, including MongoDB and S3.
- Analyze large datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and anomalies and provide business insights
- Visualize findings using tools like Matplotlib and communicate insights effectively to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address challenges and optimize data processes by building automatic workflows and managing BU specific development environment
- Develop strategies for both structured and unstructured data formats, and optimize data processing workflows for efficiency
- Conduct data quality assurance checks to identify and resolve inconsistencies and errors.
- Automate workflows and monitoring tools for efficiency including using GenAI tools
- Collaborate with various internal shareholders, including R&D, CS, and SE
- Understand and i
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or any related field
- Experience coding in Python and/or JS - a must
- Experience experience with GenAI workflows or autonomous agents - must
- Good knowledge of statistical analysis
- Experience with GitHub (Source Version Management)
- Experience with NoSQL/SQL databases (MongoDB, Postgres) and libraries such as Pandas, NumPy
- Proficiency in Excel, with advanced skills preferred
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Grafana or Redash is a plus
- Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English
- Ability to multitask on several projects at a time
- 2+ years of relevant experience in automation / software engineering
- experience with APIs (Graphql, REST) and tools (hoppscotch, postman)
- Advantage: experience with client facing operations
- Self motivated enjoys starting projects from start to finish
