POSITION SUMMARY

  • Customer-facing sales team representative working with an Account Manager focused on specific accounts. Perform technical tasks, including technical solution presentation, written proposals, network design and engineering and quotes. Must be able to communicate solutions to customers and manage ongoing technical relationship. Also work with internal CIENA organization to drive product requirements and provide customer feedback to product management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Network and applications engineering for CIENA products
  • Leading technology meetings and reviews with key customers
  • Consult with potential and current customers on application of CIENA products for next generation architectures
  • Complete network designs for customer application of CIENA networking products
  • Drive introduction of new concepts / features into customer networks
  • Influence Customer requirements and translate high-level customer requirements into CIENA system requirements
  • Expertise in use of CIENA network design and modeling tools
  • Prepare quotations and assist in proposal preparation for all CIENA products using internal tools
  • Provide product and technical expertise to support Sales efforts of transmission, switching and software solutions
  • Prepare design and applications presentations
  • Review quotes, RFx's, product presentations and forecasts
  • Serve as a technical trusted advisor for customer related issues
  • Interface with sales group and product management/marketing to develop and/or propose product enhancements to meet customer requirements
  • Act as the first-line support âGo-Toâ person for allocated sales opportunities within allocated accounts

    SKILLS

  • Ability to build customer relationships leading to trusted advisor status within customer and partner base
  • Proficient in selling, building, and/or deploying turnkey solutions.
  • Strong communication skills; verbal and written communications skills in Hebrew and English
  • Excellent communications skills; cooperative attitude; team player.
  • Technical knowledge in some of the following areas:
    • DWDM
    • Optical transmission systems
    • Packet networking including understanding of (IP/)Ethernet Carrier Ethernet, MPLS and SR
    • Technical knowledge in Software Defined Networking, network orchestration and NMS
  • Exhibit a high degree of presentation, interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Able to provide clear and concise engineering documentation.
  • Detail oriented, flexible, able to handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision and able to deal with tight deadlines
  • Ability to work in parallel on different project and tasks
  • Manage presale as well as post sale activity
  • General knowledge of computers and application programs (i.e. MS Office, Visio)
  • Proven ability to work in a team oriented environment, taking on-board round table discussions on solution architecture
  • Knowledge of Ciena products and technologies an Advantage

  • REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 Years in Telecommunication industry experience
  • Prior experience as a contributor on a sales account team
  • Prior experience with government / defense projects â advantage
  • Capable to be classified by the Israeli MOD
  • Good English knowledge
  • EDUCATION

  • Technical Degree, BSc or equivalent
