Job Description

As a PCBA Repair Technician, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and identifying defects in circuit boards, ensuring the quality and performance of our products.


Your role:

  • Identify and troubleshoot defects in PCBAs used in medical devices, including issues related to soldering, component failures, and connectivity problems.

  • Ensure that all PCBA repairs strictly comply with regulatory standards, including FDA guidelines, ISO 13485, and other relevant quality and safety standards for medical devices.

  • Replace faulty components on medical device PCBAs, such as SMT components, specialized integrated circuits, and other critical components, ensuring accuracy and precision in the replacement process.

  • Implement and strictly adhere to Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) control measures to prevent damage to sensitive electronic components during the repair process.

  • Conduct functional testing of repaired PCBAs to verify proper functionality, reliability, and safety, documenting test results and ensuring compliance with medical device specifications.

  • Maintain detailed records of all repairs, including traceability of components, adherence to Good Documentation Practices, and compliance with quality control processes, following IPC standards.

  • Work closely with the quality assurance team to address non-conformities, contribute to root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions in alignment with IPC-A-610 and IPC-7711/21 standards.

  • Provide feedback to engineering teams on potential design improvements and collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives related to medical device PCBA assemblies.

  • Follow strict health and safety protocols, ensuring a clean and controlled working environment to prevent contamination and ensure the safety of personnel.



You're the right fit if you have:

  • Practical Engineering degree in Electronics or a related field is preferred.

  • Proven experience of 5 year minimum as a PCBA Repair Technician.

  • Familiarity with IPC standards, particularly IPC-A-610 for assessing the quality of electronic assemblies. Formal IPC Certification is an advantage.

  • Proficiency in IPC-7711/21 for performing rework and repair tasks following industry best practices. Formal IPC Certification is an advantage.

  • Excellent understanding of ESD control measures and cleanroom practices.

  • Strong attention to detail and precision in handling electronic components, especially those used in medical devices.

  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

  • High safety awareness for Chemical Handling, Emergency Response, Tool and Equipment Safety & Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  • Good English (verbal & written)
