
Radiology Technologist

Radiology technologists are responsible for producing high-quality images of the human body for diagnostic purposes. This involves operating complex equipment, positioning patients accurately, and maintaining a safe working environment.
Main Responsibilities:
- Positioning patients for various medical imaging exams, ensuring accurate and comfortable positioning.
- Operating radiologic equipment, including computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and fluoroscopy units.
- Maintaining patient records, including histories, exam results, and technical parameters.
- Collaborating with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnoses and optimal patient care.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in radiologic technology or related field.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
- Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) licensure.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic medical records (EMRs).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions:
- May be exposed to hazardous materials and life-threatening diseases.
- Frequent lifting and moving of patients, up to 35 pounds, without assistance.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions and make independent professional decisions.
