The Role

Our team is developing a distributed database from scratch. We are seeking an Observability Engineer to play a pivotal role in designing and implementing advanced observability features that ensure the reliability and performance of our distributed database platform. This involves instrumenting key components within the database engine and designing external tools and dashboards to provide maximum visibility, performance, and resilience.

This is a hands-on role combining architecture and implementation responsibilities. It's an ideal opportunity for someone with deep technical expertise and a strong sense of ownership. In this role, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams and your work will directly influence how we detect anomalies, prevent outages, and maintain a seamless experience for our users.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with excellent academic record
  • Strong systems design skills with ability to understand and develop complex distributed systems
  • Both analytical and execution-oriented, with a systematic approach and bias toward detail
  • High level of personal drive, ambition, and ownership
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
