Respiratory Therapist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive respiratory care to patients. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.

**Responsibilities:**

• Administer respiratory care procedures and modalities in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Operate specialized ventilators in critical and non-critical care venues.
• Assist physician with bedside or other procedures as applicable to facility.
• Provide medication treatments and therapies per physician order and/or patient driven respiratory protocols (PDRPs) as prescribed.
• Clean, maintain, and ensure proper functionality of equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment as necessary and identify the need for service and/or repair.

• Educate and instruct patients in purpose, technique, self-care, goal of therapy, and disease management.
• Facilitate clinical problem solving and collaborate with other departments to provide education on managing patients.

**Requirements:**

• Respiratory Therapist certification (CRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), Adult Critical Care Specialist (ACCS) certification issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)/American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), Neonatal/Pediatric Respiratory Specialist (NPS) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
