The role of Heavy Haul Driver involves transporting oversized and overweight loads safely and efficiently. This position requires a strong background in heavy haul transportation and adherence to state and federal regulations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Safely operate heavy haul trucks to transport oversized and overweight loads.
- Plan and execute routes that comply with state and federal regulations.
- Secure loads properly to ensure safe transportation.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of the truck.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of cargo, routes, and hours of service.
Requirements:
This position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in heavy haul transportation and a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements. Additionally, strong knowledge of state and federal transportation regulations is necessary.
A heavy haul driver should also have excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is also essential. Furthermore, being comfortable with extended periods away from home, including trips longer than one week, is required.

Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
