Respiratory Therapist Opportunity

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will provide high-quality patient care and support in the delivery of comprehensive respiratory services.

In this role, you will be responsible for administering respiratory care procedures and modalities in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. This will include providing medication treatments and therapies per physician order and/or patient-driven respiratory protocols as prescribed.

You will also be responsible for operating specialized ventilators in critical and non-critical care venues, cleaning, maintaining, and ensuring proper functionality of equipment, and troubleshooting equipment as necessary.

Apart from these responsibilities, you will be expected to educate and instruct patients in the purpose, technique, self-care, goal of therapy, and disease management. You will also facilitate clinical problem-solving and collaborate with other departments to provide education on managing patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer respiratory care procedures and modalities in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Operate specialized ventilators in critical and non-critical care venues.
  • Clean, maintain, and ensure proper functionality of equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment as necessary and identify the need for service and/or repair.
  • Provide medication treatments and therapies per physician order and/or patient-driven respiratory protocols as prescribed.
  • Educate and instruct patients in the purpose, technique, self-care, goal of therapy, and disease management.
  • Facilitate clinical problem-solving and collaborate with other departments to provide education on managing patients.

Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program, with a minimum of an associate degree.
  • R Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license issued by the state in which you practice.
  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
