Highly Motivated Software Quality Engineer Wanted for Radar Systems

Radar Systems Software Quality Assurance Role

This is a critical position for ensuring software reliability, safety, and compliance across the full lifecycle of mission-critical radar systems.

• The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining a comprehensive quality assurance plan aligned with military, NATO, and cybersecurity standards.
• They will define and implement a software management plan to govern all phases of the development lifecycle, including scheduling, risk mitigation, deliverables tracking, and quality gates.
• The candidate must develop and manage a software configuration management plan for full traceability, baseline control, and secure software handling.
• They will review and verify software requirements specifications for clarity, completeness, consistency, and testability, focusing on traceability to higher-level system requirements.
• Collaboration with system safety teams is required to create a software safety plan identifying software contributions to system-level hazards.
• A verification and validation test plan must be created, including functional, interface, integration, performance, and regression testing for radar-specific capabilities.
• The candidate must prepare and control software version description documents for each release to ensure compliance with configuration and delivery standards.
• Review and approval of software-related contract data requirements list deliverables are necessary, such as quality plans, requirements specifications, and test results.
• Participation in design reviews, technical audits, and quality assessments is expected.
• Cybersecurity policies must be adhered to, including NIST SP 800-53, CMMC, and NATO information assurance policies, as they apply to software quality and secure development.
• Vulnerability assessment and patch tracking processes for embedded and operational radar software environments must be supported.
• Coding, documentation, and quality standards for software in mission-critical, real-time, and secure environments must be enforced.

• Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, systems engineering, or a related field.
• At least three years of software QA experience in defense, aerospace, or other regulated, safety-critical domains.
• Solid understanding of V-model, waterfall, or hybrid development models used in military-grade software.
• Familiarity with MIL-STD-498, IEEE/EIA 12207, or DO-178C.
• Experience with QA and ALM tools, such as IBM DOORS, Polarion, JIRA, or HP ALM.
• Eligibility for security clearance; knowledge of ITAR, export control, and secure software practices.
