Asterix Foods is pioneering the next wave of animal-free protein innovation. We focus on glycoproteins, specialized proteins requiring precise glycosylations for optimal food applications. Using plant cell systems, we achieve these glycosylations more efficiently than microbial fermentation, enabling sustainable, high-performance food technology.

The Role

We are seeking a hands-on Research and Development Scientist to design experiments, perform assays, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. This role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup, enjoys problem-solving, and wants to create technology with real-world impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and analyze experiments with accuracy
  • Conduct protein analysis (ELISA, Western Blot, functional assays)
  • Lead molecular biology projects (cloning, gene editing, vector construction)
  • Develop and optimize lab protocols
  • Interpret results, troubleshoot, and propose solutions
  • Collaborate to achieve project milestones

Requirements

  • Ph.D.
    in Biology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Plant Biology, or related field
  • Strong molecular biology and protein analysis expertise
  • Proven experience in sterile lab work
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and clear communication skills
