Position Summary

Clinical Research Physical Therapist to plan, organize, and coordinate clinical research studies in Physical Therapy within the School of Health and Rehabilitation Scinces; provides home-based treatment and planning with children, 6 months to 8 years of age, as part of a 5 year NIH-funded comparative effectiveness clinical trial evaluating dosing in young infants and toddlers with severe motor disabilities; compiles and maintains clinical research data and records; assists with ensuring compliance with all Institutional Review Boards (IRB), Federal Drug Administration (FDA), federal, state and industry sponsored regulations; records, consolidates and processes research data as needed, including documenting treatment sessions, goal setting, development of transfer packages/home programs for families; identifies and assess eligibility of patients for consideration of participation in clinical trials; participates in recruiting and interviewing potential study participants; schedules appointments and communicates directly with families to provide all interventions in the home or child's school; educates patients and families of purpose and goals of clinical study; provides parent/caregiver training; performs structured interviews with patients and caregivers; attends study team meetings and trainings.

Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in physical therapy required; current licensure in Physical Therapy from the State of Ohio Physical Therapy and Athletic Training Board and initial registration as a physical therapist required; considerable experience with typical and atypical child development and conducting clinical research studies in a clinical research capacity required; experience in pediatric PT preferred, particularly in the care of infants; experience in pediatric assessment and rehab, especially the GMFM and Bayley; own transportation required for ~50% of work in the field.
