A successful global company is looking for an
Image Sensor Firmware Engineer
.

What does the role include?

  • In-depth exploration of image sensors and smartphone photography technologies, with a focus on understanding trade-offs between image quality, resolution, dynamic range, chip size, and power consumption
  • Firmware development in C for embedded processors with memory constraints
  • Writing code to control and manage the entire chip system and data path, including:
  • Boot sequence, image processing block control, IP configuration, real-time algorithm implementation, and communication with external components
  • Interfacing with the smartphone's application processor, memory management, and more
  • Implementing and optimizing algorithms using hardware accelerators
  • Influencing system architecture, algorithm development, and hardware design
  • Developing unit tests and system-level tests – in both simulation and emulation environments
  • Creating tools for firmware updates and debugging, including the emulation environment
  • Close collaboration with various teams: Algorithms, Analog, Digital Design, Digital Verification, Firmware Verification, and Field Application Engineers (FAEs)
  • Providing software solutions for image quality issues discovered post-silicon

Requirements
:

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
  • At least 3 years of experience in real-time embedded firmware development
  • Extensive experience in C programming, including writing efficient code under hardware constraints
  • Ability to understand full system requirements, constraints, and technical challenges

Advantages
:

  • Experience in developing and debugging hardware-software integrated systems during the hardware development phase
  • Firmware development experience using emulators such as FPGA or Cadence Palladium
  • Proficiency in Python and C++
  • Experience working with Arm Cortex or RISC-V based processors
  • Strong analytical and algorithmic skills
