Team Lead – Backend Services (Python / AWS)


Location:
Ra'anana | R&D Department

We are looking for a
hands-on Backend Team Lead
to own the development and evolution of cloud-based services for a leading global technology company in the wireless communication space. This role combines technical ownership with leadership, providing an exciting opportunity to grow a small backend team in the near future.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the
    design, development, deployment, and maintenance
    of backend services using
    Python on AWS Lambda
    .
  • Manage and optimize
    MongoDB databases
    , ensuring scalable and performant data models.
  • Develop and maintain
    APIs
    used by mobile apps, internal tools, and cross-functional teams.
  • Build
    data pipelines and analytics tools
    to provide actionable insights for sales, operations, and support teams.
  • Provide
    technical mentorship
    , guidance, and code reviews; plan for future team growth.
  • Collaborate with architects and DevOps engineers to ensure
    robust, secure, and cost-effective infrastructure
    .
  • Work closely with mobile, product, QA, and hardware teams to align backend solutions with

product goals

Requirements:

  • B.Sc. in
    Computer Science, Software Engineering
    , or related field.
  • 3+ years of
    hands-on backend development experience
    , including cloud-based services.
  • Expertise in
    Python, AWS Lambda, MongoDB (or equivalent NoSQL), RESTful APIs
    .
  • Strong understanding of
    database design, indexing, performance tuning, and schema evolution
    .
  • Proven ability to
    mentor developers and lead engineering projects end-to-end
    .
  • Strong
    analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
    .
  • Excellent
    communication skills
    to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
