R&D Team Lead
to play a pivotal role in shaping, building, and expanding their core engineering capabilities.

You will lead a high-impact team responsible for both extending our existing system's functionalities and pioneering the creation of new products and features. This role offers a unique blend of hands-on technical contribution and strategic leadership - guiding architectural decisions, setting best practices, and actively mentoring engineers - all within a fast-moving, product-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate a high-performance engineering culture, championing standards of excellence, quality, and timely delivery.
  • Mentor and empower your team members, fostering their professional growth and helping them excel in their roles.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with product management and cross-functional engineering teams to translate vision into innovative, data-driven solutions.
  • Actively contribute to recruiting top-tier talent, building and scaling a world-class engineering team.
  • Architect and guide the development of new systems, focusing on building and maintaining highly scalable, robust microservices.
  • Champion best practices in testing, monitoring, and performance optimization across all engineering initiatives.

Requirements
Leadership & Management:

  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience, with a track record of successfully leading engineering teams (3+ years), including hiring, mentoring, and fostering high performance.
  • Exceptional autonomy and initiative, capable of driving initiatives and advancing projects independently without external dependency.
  • A natural leader with a strong sense of empathy, dedicated to creating a supportive, growth-oriented environment through mentorship.
  • Unwavering commitment to high standards, meticulous attention to detail, and a focus on delivering excellence.
  • Innovative thinking and a talent for developing creative solutions to complex technical challenges.

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Extensive hands-on experience in architecting and building highly scalable, distributed systems, with a deep understanding of performance optimization and reliability.
  • Strong back-end development expertise, complemented by a working knowledge of modern frontend frameworks and a collaborative, full-stack mindset.
  • Proficiency with event-driven architectures and message brokers/streaming platforms (e.g., Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ, or Kafka).
  • Comfortable and proficient in leveraging AI tools to accelerate development, enhance code quality, and boost productivity.
  • Familiarity or hands-on experience with DevOps tools and frameworks (e.g., Terraform, ArgoCD) is a plus.
  • Prior experience with payment systems, financial transaction workflows, or money transfer systems is a significant advantage.
