JOB OVERVIEW:

EPIC Law Firm Group is a specialty insurance business unit of EPIC Insurance Brokers and Consultants, focused on lawyers and law firms. What differentiates us is our Law Firm industry expertise. Our team members have prior experience as practicing lawyers, consultants, international brokers, professional liability claims handlers and underwriters – giving us a unique and unmatched insight into how law firms operate, deliver services, and manage risks.

The Insurance Account Specialist's main responsibilities are to support the account manager and broker in providing top-notch client services. This entry-level role assists with producing client submissions, proposals, presentations, insurance summaries & reports. It will also provide day-to-day support with routine inquiries and transactions concerning clients (such as answering phone calls, responding to emails, entering client data and information into client and business management systems, scanning, and photocopying). This is an administrative-heavy service & support role, NOT a sales role.

LOCATION: HYBRID - This role must be willing & able to work 3 days a week in our downtown Chicago office (125 South Wacker)

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Candidates with strong, professional communication skills – both written and verbal. Ideal candidates can successfully pivot between providing detailed and accurate written communication, as well as picking up the phone and having a detailed verbal conversation with clients or internal stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail, and the ability to achieve proficient use of agency management systems and tools.
  • At least 1 years of experience working for an insurance agency, broker or carrier, OR a degree in risk management and insurance is preferred.
  • Candidates who adapt well to priority changes, deadlines, and who love problem solving and coming up with solutions and answers to client questions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

The account specialist will handle day-to-day client issues and questions. A detailed list of job duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Input client information into Sagitta (agency management software system)
  • Request loss runs
  • Pre-complete renewal schedules and identify applications to send to client for completion using Broker Buddha and coordinate with Account Manager
  • Support client's preparation of applications
  • Create client files on shared server, prepare pre-renewal reports including loss ratio analysis and pre-complete renewal reports
  • Prepare confirmations of coverage and insurance program charts
  • Coordinate with other staff on certificate-holder list
  • Review Certificate of Insurance templates for approval with Account Manager
  • Assist with processing and tracking mid-term endorsement requests
  • Follow up on underwriter subjectivities
  • Assist with program analysis for potential clients
  • Assist with contract and RFP review of insurance requirements
  • Assist with policy workflow process to make sure policies are reviewed, stamped and sent out to clients in a timely fashion
  • Assist quoting using insurer's online platforms where applicable
  • Handle post-renewal documentation (Post Binder, Big Chart, COI with Account Managers support)
  • Provide day-to-day support with routine inquires and transactions concerning client
  • Serve as a backup when a broker is out of the office

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, preferably in an insurance-related field OR at least 1-2 years of working in commercial insurance industry
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Knowledge of agency management system is a plus
  • Commercial property and casualty experience is preferred
  • Licensed property/casualty insurance agent/broker license; if not already licensed, EPIC will provide the opportunity to get licensed

COMPENSATION:

The national average hourly rate for this role is $ $30.77 per hour in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, skills, training, certifications and education, while also considering internal equity and market data.
