Role Essence

The Non-clinical Lead will act as a right-hand partner to the VP R&D, translating research strategy into actionable plans and ensuring the smooth execution of preclinical programs that advance OrthoTreat's bone-regeneration platform.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the VP R&D in translating research strategy into detailed project plans with defined objectives, milestones, budgets and risk assessments.
  • Plan and manage multiple in-vitro and in-vivo studies concurrently; design protocols, select appropriate models and endpoints, coordinate with cross-functional teams and external CROs; monitor timelines and budgets; ensure quality and adherence to protocols; compile data and final reports.
  • Lead selection and contracting of CROs; oversee protocol development, in-life phases and reporting; maintain strong relationships and ensure deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Draft and review study protocols, SOPs and technical reports; compile data packages for regulatory submissions; maintain organized records for audits and clinical translation.
  • Stay current with scientific literature on bone regeneration and drug development; contribute to technology scouting, grant applications and scientific publications.
  • Foster a collaborative work culture and ensure adherence to safety and compliance standards.

Requirements

  • Master's in biology, biotechnology, pharmacology, biomedical engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of industry experience managing preclinical projects, including outsourced CROs and complex study budgets;
  • Experience with  IND-enabling studies is an
    advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and execute in-vitro and in-vivo experiments;
    knowledge of bone biology, orthopedic or regenerative medicine

is highly desirable.
- Proven project-management skills; capable of juggling multiple programs, tracking budgets, mitigating risks and meeting aggressive timelines in a lean start-up environment.
