Role Overview:

Jewish News Syndicate (JNS), the fastest-growing news agency covering Israel and the Jewish world, is seeking its first Technology and AI Lead to guide the next stages of our digital evolution. As JNS continues to grow – with 40+ full-time staff across the U.S. and Israel and a multilingual news desk – the Technology and AI Lead will play a critical role in integrating the newest technologies, including AI tools into all departments in the company, to streamline workflows, increase efficiency, create new and improve existing products, and move the whole organization forward. 

Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), this role will oversee our tech strategy and ensure our systems run smoothly day-to-day, strengthen our information infrastructure, content distribution, and reader/donor engagement. We're not just looking for someone to maintain what's already in place. We want someone who can proactively develop new solutions, test new technologies, push our tech capabilities into the future, and train staff on new tools and techniques, promoting cross-company compliance.

We use tools like HubSpot, Salesforce, and WordPress (CMS), and we need someone who can make them work better together—connecting data, streamlining workflows, and supporting team efficiency.

You'll be a technical builder—someone who can design smart workflows, implement AI tools, and build new systems that make our information more accessible and useful across departments.

We're looking for a big-picture thinker who takes initiative and helps drive JNS into its next stage.

What You'll Do:

• Lead JNS's technology roadmap—balancing day-to-day support with long-term innovation and scalable systems that support rapid growth.
• Work with third-party developers and internal teams to streamline editorial and content production workflows, improve content distribution, and ensure systems are well integrated.
• Build and maintain smart integrations between tools like HubSpot, Salesforce, iWave, and WordPress (CMS) to support seamless data flow and performance.
• Research and test new tools and technologies, especially in AI and automation, to help departments work more efficiently and stay ahead of trends.
• Design and implement smart workflows and algorithms to automate real-time content delivery and improve audience targeting.
• Identify opportunities to reimagine and improve JNS's digital infrastructure, using creativity and initiative to support cross-departmental needs.
• Train staff on new systems and tools to ensure effective adoption and company-wide tech fluency.
• Ensure best practices in cloud infrastructure, architecture, and security to keep JNS resilient and future-ready.

What You Bring:

• 3+ years in engineering or technical leadership roles, ideally in media, newsroom, publishing, or fast-paced digital environments. 
• Strong hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, automation, APIs, and real-time content delivery with proven track record in scaling digital platforms and leading digital transformation initiatives
• Demonstrated success integrating systems like HubSpot, Salesforce, and WordPress to drive performance and efficiency.
• A "builder's mindset"—you look for smarter ways to structure systems, solve problems creatively, and move fast with the right tools.
• Curiosity and initiative around emerging tools and AI trends—you stay on top of what's next and know how to test and implement it.
• Skilled at cross-functional collaboration and communication; comfortable working with editorial, video, fundraising, marketing, and operations teams.
• Experienced in training non-technical teams on digital tools and platforms.
