Plastic Back is a clean tech startup in the plastic-to-oil sector. The company has developed a chemical process that converts post-consumed plastic waste into valuable products. The company's mission is to enable a circular economy by creating value in waste.

The company is seeking an experienced chemist to join the company's R&D efforts. The candidate will work closely with the lead chemist and at the company's laboratories.

Responsibilities

·       Conduct hands-on
qualitative and quantitative experiments

on organic and inorganic compounds.

·       Perform daily laboratory tasks, including
experimental and analytical work

.

·       Contribute to
experiment design

,
process optimization

, and
laboratory scale-up

.

·       Prepare
technical reports

for governmental grants and internal stakeholders.

·       Support
material and equipment procurement

for the chemistry department.

·       Collaborate with
process and mechanical engineers

to advance R&D efforts.

·       Perform practical laboratory work, including handling
organic materials and solvents

.

Requirements

·       
Master's degree

in Chemistry and/or Materials Engineering (
PhD preferred

).

·       Knowledge of
chemical oxidation

and
scale-up processes

.

·       Experience interpreting analytical data (
GC, NMR, etc.

).

·       Expertise in
organic chemistry, polymers, and crude oil

– an advantage.

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills in
Hebrew and English

.

·       Knowledge of
distillation processes

and
oil characterization

.

·       Proven
scale-up experience

in an R&D or industrial setting.
