The Role: CTO / Technical Co-Founder

We are looking for a 
senior, hands-on CTO
 with 
deep gaming experience
 who wants to 
own the technical vision end-to-end
.

You will not just "lead engineering."

You will 
define the technical foundations of an entirely new gaming category
.

You will work directly with the founder on:

  • Core architecture
  • Game systems design
  • Scalability and infrastructure
  • Long-term technical strategy

This is a 
foundational role
 with real ownership and influence.

What You Will Own

  • Technical Architecture
  • Design and own a scalable, real-time backend
  • Multiplayer systems, state synchronization, anti-cheat considerations
  • Location-based and event-driven mechanics
  • Game Systems & Infrastructure
  • Progression systems, rewards, leaderboards, XP economies
  • Live operations mindset (events, drops, scaling)
  • Performance, reliability, and security
  • Engineering Leadership
  • Build and lead the engineering team
  • Set coding standards, tooling, and processes
  • Make long-term technical decisions that will hold at scale
  • Product Collaboration
  • Work closely with product, design, and growth
  • Translate gameplay vision into robust systems
  • Balance speed, quality, and scalability

Who We're Looking For

This role is 
not
 for a generalist CTO without gaming DNA.

We are specifically looking for someone who has:

  • Proven experience in gaming
  • Mobile games, F2P, multiplayer, live ops, or large-scale consumer gaming platforms
  • Experience at companies like Playtika, Supercell, Zynga, Niantic, Epic, or similar is a strong plus
  • Strong system-level thinking
  • You think in architectures, not just features
  • You understand scale, concurrency, latency, and real-time constraints
  • Hands-on mindset
  • You can design, review, and implement
  • You are comfortable getting your hands dirty early on
  • Founder mentality
  • You care about the business, not just the code
  • You want ownership, responsibility, and impact
  • Comfort with ambiguity

  • There is no playbook — you help write it
