Internal Observability Expert, Cloud Networking

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, Java, or C++) for automation or tool development.
• 5 years of experience in software engineering, SRE, or DevOps roles focused on cloud infrastructure, networking, or distributed systems.

Preferred qualifications:

• 3 years of experience developing or supporting observability tooling (e.g., Metrics, Logs, Traces) using platforms like Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK, or OpenTelemetry.
• 2 years of experience as a Technical Lead, Product Owner, or Engineering Manager, with a proven track record of setting technical direction and defining product roadmaps.
• Experience in the networking implementation details of a specific major cloud provider (e.g., VPC, peering, firewalls, GKE/EKS networking).
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot network issues in a public cloud environment (e.g., GCP).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the key technical and product voice for our Cloud Networking Observability and Tools team and engage with internal customers (Dev Oncallers, SREs, Support) to identify critical tooling and data gaps in their networking investigation workflows.
• Leverage expert knowledge of cloud networking data paths and implementation, wherein the lead will define, design, and drive the execution of high-impact troubleshooting solutions.
• Own the overall health and reliability of the system and act as a final escalation point for customer issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional tech leaders to ensure system integrations.
• Assume a leadership role post-onboarding by setting the team goal and roadmap, organizing task assignments and mentor team members.
