BMC is looking for a
Lead Java Product Developer
to join our AMI Cloud team, working on complex, high-performance, distributed software solutions. You'll play a key role in developing, debugging, and optimizing applications that run on both z/OS mainframes and cloud environments.

At AMI Cloud, we are dedicated to modernizing mainframe solutions by enhancing developer experience, application speed, security, and operational efficiency. Our IZOT product line helps the world's largest companies monitor, manage, and optimize their mainframe systems, driving efficiency, innovation, and reduced costs. As we continue to grow, innovate, and expand our solutions, we're looking for passionate developers to shape the future of enterprise technology.

Here is how, through this exciting role, YOU will contribute to BMC's and your own success:

• Design and develop platform solutions using Java/J2EE best practices and web standards.
• Lead feature development and participate in architecture and design reviews.
• Create detailed designs using UML, process flows, sequence diagrams, and pseudo-code, ensuring alignment with solution requirements.
• Work on complex problems, requiring an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors and a strong problem-solving mindset.
• Independently design and implement new features that address customer needs with a strong sense of ownership.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to team members.
• Stay updated with competing technologies and adapt solutions to balance innovation with platform limitations.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment, working on multiple tasks while maintaining high-quality standards.

To ensure you're set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:

• 12+ years of experience in Java-based application or product development, with expertise in RESTful services, high-performance computing, and multi-threading.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools and concepts, including Infrastructure as Code, Jenkins, Ansible, and Terraform.
• Experience working in web-based environments, utilizing React, Angular, server-side rendering, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Strong knowledge of build tools such as Gradle and Maven.
• Experience working with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Proficiency with modern version control systems (Git).
• Strong understanding of design patterns, object-oriented development, high-performance computing, SOLID principles, and testing automation.
• Familiarity with modern Java frameworks such as Spring Boot, Quarkus, or Micronaut.

Whilst these are nice to have, our team can help you develop in the following skills:

• Experience in CI/CD environments with Jenkins and popular DevOps tools.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence).
• Proficiency with advanced IDEs such as IntelliJ, Eclipse, or VS Code.
