Data Department Manager

SHVA is a leading company in the Payments and FinTech sector, managing advanced infrastructures for large-scale data processing and handling. We are looking for an experienced Data Department Manager to join our technological leadership and lead the organization's data domain to the next level of technological and business excellence.

Job Description

In this role, the Manager will be responsible for leading the organization's Data Department, which includes a team of Analysts, a BI development team, and Data Engineers. The position combines responsibility for technological strategy and partnership in business strategy, with a clear goal: to leverage data to create real business value and support the organization's strategic objectives.

The Manager will work closely with business units- Finance, Marketing, Operations, and Product, to help define needs, translate them into data solutions, and ensure that data supports informed, data-driven decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Leading a data department that includes Analysts, BI Developers, and Data Engineers.
• Responsibility for data architecture, ETL processes, data quality, and Data Governance.
• Collaborating with business units to generate insights and Data-Driven solutions that promote organizational goals.
• Leading cross-organizational projects in the fields of BI, Big Data, and Analytics that generate real business impact.
• Building a technological Roadmap in the data field in collaboration with senior management.
• Presenting business insights and management reports to the executive team for strategic decision-making.

Job Requirements

Professional and Managerial Experience:

• 5-7 years of experience in managing Data/BI departments in technological or financial organizations.
• Experience working in a data-based product company- a significant advantage.
• Proven experience in leading multi-disciplinary teams: Analysts, BI Developers, and Data Engineers.
• Background in building cross-organizational data strategies with an emphasis on creating business value and their practical implementation.
• Management of complex projects in the Data & Analytics field with defined business goals.
• ​​​​​​​Leading a strategic Roadmap and its implementation in collaboration with senior management.
• Working in Agile environments and managing cross-organizational processes.
• High-level presentation and communication skills across business and technological stakeholders.
• Building and measuring data-based KPIs and business metrics.

Technological Knowledge:

• Experience with BI solutions: Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Looker.
• Proficiency in Data Warehouse systems such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift.
• Experience with ETL and Data Orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, DBT, Talend).
• Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) including Data Lakes and Security.
• Experience working with SQL, knowledge in Python or R- an advantage.
• Familiarity with Data Governance methodologies, data quality, and MDM.

Business Experience and Analytical Capabilities:

• Deep understanding of business processes in the Payments/FinTech field- a significant advantage.
• Experience in translating business needs into data solutions, analytical models, and management reports.
• Ability to present and explain business insights to senior management in a clear and focused manner.
• Experience in Data-Driven Decision Making.
• Familiarity with business Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and their implementation in BI reports and processes.
• Proven experience in managing data development and technological processes, including control and testing (QA) processes.
