Backend Software Engineer – Core Product (Security Advantage)

Job Description:

We are looking for a
skilled Backend Software Engineer
to join our core product team. In this role, you will work on the design and development of complex, large-scale systems that are critical to the company's platform. You'll take ownership of backend components, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help shape the architecture and scalability of our core infrastructure.

While the primary focus is on backend development, a
strong understanding of cloud-native technologies
(especially Docker and containerized environments) is essential. A background or interest in
security
is a big plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable and resilient backend systems
  • Collaborate with DevOps, product, and architecture teams to deliver robust solutions
  • Develop and optimize containerized services using Docker and orchestration tools
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and system design
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and Agile processes
  • (Advantage) Contribute to secure development practices and integrate security considerations into the development lifecycle

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in backend software development
  • Strong experience with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Proficiency in one or more backend languages (e.g., Golang, .NET, Java, Python)
  • Experience building and maintaining complex, high-performance systems
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines

Preferred Qualifications (Advantages):

  • Background or strong interest in application/cloud/infrastructure security
  • Familiarity with secure coding practices (e.g., OWASP, SANS)
  • Experience with security tools (e.g., Snyk, Checkmarx, Burp Suite)
  • Knowledge of IAM, SSO, OAuth2, and secrets management tools
  • Exposure to incident response or participation in security simulations

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Passion for building reliable, scalable backend systems
  • Interest in security and staying up to date with modern threats (advantage)
