About the Organization
The IDF Widows and Orphans Organization (IDFWO) is an independent, non-governmental nonprofit established in 1991, officially recognized by the State of Israel. We represent and support 100% of the widows and orphans of Israel's fallen soldiers and security personnel through emotional, social, and financial programs that accompany each family for life. Our mission is to ensure that those who have paid the highest price for Israel's safety are never left alone.
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled, creative, and mission-driven Global Communications Manager to lead all aspects of IDFWO's English-language communication and international public profile. This pivotal role sits within the International Relations Department, reporting directly to the Director of International Relations, and works in close cooperation with the CEO, the Hebrew Marketing Manager, and the entire IDFWO staff to ensure a unified, accurate, and impactful organizational voice across all audiences and platforms.
The Global Communications Manager is responsible for shaping the organization's voice globally, building awareness, and strengthening engagement through compelling storytelling, strategic media work, and high-impact digital content.

Key Responsibilities
Content & Communications
- Lead all English-language communications across platforms.
- Maintain an up-to-date and accessible record of all organizational statistics, ensuring accurate, real-time data for reports, donor communication, and media inquiries.
- Write newsletters, annual and mid-year impact reports, specific program reports, and donor updates.
- Keep all IDFWO project one-pagers up to date with current budgets and participant figures.
- Collaborate closely with the entire IDFWO staff to align communications with donor engagement strategies and campaign objectives.
- Collaborate with IDFWO USA and IDFWO Canada local charities.
- Translate and adapt Hebrew-language materials into fluent, polished English.
Digital & Social Media
- Manage and grow IDFWO's English-language social media presence on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube.
- Regularly share testimonial stories and program highlights that reflect the organization's impact.
- Oversee and update the English-language website with high-impact content and visual storytelling.
- Oversee production of English-language video content, including one annual flagship film and multiple program-specific videos, reels, and interviews throughout the year.
- Cultivate relationships with social media influencers - pitching unique stories, and also for collaboration based posts.
Press & Media
- Initiate and manage earned press coverage internationally, with targeted outreach to leading Jewish and general-interest outlets such as, but not limited to,

, and local Jewish press worldwide. - Cultivate relationships with journalists, editors, and partner organizations to ensure consistent, accurate, and impactful coverage of IDFWO's mission and activities.
- Draft and distribute press releases, talking points, and op-eds as needed.
Marketing Initiatives
- Manage major marketing campaigns (sponsored ads) across press and digital platforms.
- Develop and implement strategies to maximize visibility, engagement, and donor conversion through these initiatives.
Community
- Build and maintain relationships with English-speaking widows and orphans willing to speak to media, delegations, and at international events.
- Train and prepare staff on messaging and speaking points; and widows on story telling techniques for public speaking appearances.
Qualifications
- Native-level English
writing, editing, and copywriting skills. - Fluent Hebrew
(reading, speaking, and translation abilities). - Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in communications, media, or marketing, preferably in the nonprofit or advocacy sector.
- Proven experience managing social media platforms and digital campaigns.
- Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
- Storytelling ability with deep empathy and professionalism.
- Strong organizational and project-management skills, with ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with video content production, website management, and annual impact report writing (advantages).
- Proficiency with WordPress, Canva, Photoshop, or InDesign (advantages).
