Our Mission
At Palo Alto Networks everything starts and ends with our mission:
Being the cybersecurity partner of choice, protecting our digital way of life.
Our vision is a world where each day is safer and more secure than the one before. We are a company built on the foundation of challenging and disrupting the way things are done, and we're looking for innovators who are as committed to shaping the future of cybersecurity as we are.
Who We Are
We believe collaboration thrives in person. That's why most of our teams work from the office full time, with flexibility when it's needed. This model supports real-time problem-solving, stronger relationships, and the kind of precision that drives great outcomes.
Job DescriptionYour Career
We are looking for an engineering manager to lead a cross-platform team in the Cortex XDR agent group. The manager will lead a group of several engineers personally and technically, making critical decisions and prioritizing the team's work.
The Cross Platform teams take part in the development of Cortex XDR Agent, a disruptive anti-exploit & anti-malware product. The XDR agent is the foundation of most of the Cortex products, providing the "boots-on-the-ground" for Palo Alto's endpoint protection solutions. The team focuses on the endpoint, working on delivering a cross platform agent for Windows, MacOS & Linux, and builds revolutionary new capabilities to improve security and performance over millions of endpoints.
More information about Endpoint Protection products can be found here.
We're looking for a manager that can own large projects, guide his engineers and deliver results in short periods and in a rapidly changing environment. Someone with the ability to quickly understand the wider picture and the minute details of code and make decisions that prioritize progress and results. Finally, a manager that can provide an example for the team, create clarity in their work and foster a sense of independence and ownership.
Your Impact
Lead a team of several engineers through technical challenges, system design and large projects to deliver results
Improve processes inside and outside the team. Work with other teams, Product, QA and other stakeholders to collaborate successfully
Contribute from your experience to guide engineers of various experience levels to improve and write better, more effective code at a faster pace
Own product flows technically, working with Product Managers on the engineering perspective of new features that are constantly delivered to customers
Analyze and solve customer cases that arise from the field, corresponding with PANW's "customer-centric" approach
Team-building - From hiring to team morale, you'll be responsible to hire the right engineers and keep them engaged and motivated
Give engineers performance feedback
Your Experience
5+ years of experience developing high-level code in an Object Oriented codebase
5+ years of development experience in C++
Experience leading development teams and large projects
Rich experience building and owning various software projects with the ability to contribute across the software development lifecycle
A contagious positive mindset that can pull others through challenging workloads

Experience in Windows, Mac or Linux internals - a big advantage
Experience in cyber research and detection - a big advantage
Experience with operating systems API - an advantage
Experience with Python development - an advantage

The Team
To stay ahead of the curve, it's critical to know where the curve is, and how to anticipate the changes we're facing. For the fastest growing cybersecurity company, the curve is the evolution of cyberattacks and the products and services that dedicatedly address them. Our engineering team is at the core of our products – connected directly to the mission of preventing cyberattacks. They are constantly innovating – challenging the way we, and the industry, think about cybersecurity. These engineers aren't shy about building products to tackle problems no one has pursued before. They define the industry, instead of waiting for directions. We need individuals who feel comfortable in ambiguity, excited by the prospect of challenge, and empowered by the unknown risks facing our everyday lives that are only enabled by a secure digital environment.
Our engineering team is provided with an unrivaled chance to create the products and practices that will support our company growth over the next decade, defining the cybersecurity industry as we know it. If you see the potential of how incredible people products can transform a business, this is the team for you. If you don't wait for directions, instead, identifying new features and opportunities we have to just get better, this is your new career.
Our Commitment
We're problem solvers that take risks and challenge cybersecurity's status quo. It's simple: we can't accomplish our mission without diverse teams innovating, together.
We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations for all qualified individuals with a disability. If you require assistance or accommodation due to a disability or special need, please contact us at [email protected].
