We're looking for a
Backend Team Lead
to join us at a pivotal moment of transformation. The
Cloud Applications Group
is driving a major shift that will define the future of NoTraffic—building scalable, cloud-native systems and delivering innovative solutions that power our most strategic platforms.

In this role, you will guide a talented team, shape backend architecture, and lead the development of high-impact products and infrastructure components. This is a unique opportunity to influence core business systems and play a central role in the company's next generation of technology.

What You'll Do

  • Build, lead, and maintain scalable, efficient backend systems that support cloud applications.
  • Oversee design and implementation of backend services, APIs, microservices, and serverless architectures.
  • Deliver features end-to-end, including backend development and system integrations.
  • Evaluate system integration impacts to ensure smooth and efficient delivery.
  • Provide governance and oversight for Infrastructure Readiness projects and activities.
  • Lead infrastructure implementation programs, including major and routine patching, upgrades, and modernization initiatives.
  • Drive the company's Resiliency strategy and execute ongoing improvement actions.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, DevOps, Cloud, and R&D teams to ensure high-quality engineering outcomes.
  • Mentor and guide engineers, enforcing best practices, code quality, and strong engineering culture.

Requirements

You'd be a great fit if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience
    designing and implementing APIs, web services, microservices, and cloud-native architectures.
  • 5+ years of backend development experience
    , with strong proficiency in
    Python
    ,
    microservices
    , and the
    Django framework
    .
  • Hands-on experience with
    CI/CD pipelines
    , including testing, packaging, and automated deployments.
  • Experience with DevOps or a strong understanding of DevOps principles.
  • Strong knowledge of both relational and non-relational databases.
  • Demonstrated experience hosting large-scale web systems in cloud environments.
  • Solid business acumen involving budgeting, service pricing, CapEx, and ROI.
  • Deep understanding of network topologies, distributed systems, and infrastructure concepts.
  • Proven ability to lead complex troubleshooting sessions across multiple data centers, network segments, and technical disciplines—including customer-facing scenarios.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence presenting complex technical concepts to executives and external clients.
