External Speech and Occupational Therapy Contractors
Walworth Barbour American International School – Early Years and Elementary Divisions (Ages 3–11)
Position Type: Independent Contractor (External Service Provider)
Location: AIS, Even Yehuda, Israel
Schedule: During school hours (typically Monday through Friday between 8-3) as coordinated with AIS staff
Reports to: Elementary Principal and Student Support Team Coordinator
Collaboration With: Elementary Student Support Team and Teachers
Overview:
AIS is seeking English-speaking, qualified, and certified Speech and Occupational Therapists to provide individualized services to students in the elementary division (ages 3–11). These are external contractor roles, meaning therapists are contracted and paid directly by parents, not employed by the school.
Therapists will work on the AIS campus in close collaboration with the Student Support Team, Elementary Principal, and Student Support Team Coordinator to ensure integrated and developmentally appropriate support. While parents will ultimately select the practitioner of their choice from a list of approved options, AIS sets clear expectations for professional standards, campus protocols, training, communication, and collaborative work in supporting students.
Responsibilities:
- Provide English-only speech-language or occupational therapy services to students as agreed upon by parents and in alignment with individual student needs.
- Collaborate regularly with AIS staff to align therapy goals with classroom learning and student support strategies.
- Follow all school protocols regarding on-campus scheduling, designated therapy spaces, and minimizing disruptions to academic learning.
- Maintain open, professional, and confidential communication with school personnel and parents.
- Complete the school-required training, including child protection, code of conduct, and school procedures.
- Complete necessary documentation as required for student planning and school-based communication with signed releases from parents (without breaching therapist-patient confidentiality).
Qualifications:
- Valid certification and licensure in Speech Language Pathology or Occupational Therapy in both Israel and the United States (or equivalent).
- Proven experience working with children ages 3–11, preferably in school settings.
- Strong collaborative, communication, and technology skills.
- Ability to work within a diverse, inclusive school community.
- Training in the Wilson Reading Program (preferred).
Additional Information:
- All services must be scheduled during school hours and coordinated through the Student Support Team to avoid unnecessary disruptions to classroom instruction. Please note that school days are in operation from Monday through Friday from 8:00-15:00.
- Therapy sessions may only take place in approved, designated spaces on campus, typically coordinated and booked in advance with our Student Support Team Coordinator.
- AIS does not employ or compensate external therapists directly. Parents contract and pay providers independently.
- Contractors are expected to uphold AIS's values and maintain the highest standards of professionalism and child safety.
Interested and qualified professionals may submit their application on this website. Candidates will be reviewed by the AIS Student Support Team for approval, interviews, and training in order to be included on the recommended provider list shared with families.
