DevOps Lead (Contract – Full Time, Onsite – Ramat Gan)

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on DevOps Lead to join our team in Ramat Gan. This role is both strategic and technical: you will lead a growing DevOps team (currently 1 developer) while being deeply involved in implementation, operations, and infrastructure management. You will drive cloud adoption (AWS), build and manage on-premises infrastructure, and ensure our systems meet the highest standards of performance, scalability, and security. This is a full-time, onsite contract position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a small DevOps team while remaining hands-on.

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitLab.

  • Drive adoption of AWS services while also managing on-premises environments.

  • Build and maintain on-premises infrastructure: VMware ESXi, VMs, databases, network storage,

load balancers, and switches.

  • Implement monitoring and observability using Grafana, Prometheus, and InfluxDB.

  • Manage and optimize logging pipelines into Kibana.

  • Provision and manage infrastructure with Terraform and Ansible.

  • Work with databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch.

  • Ensure security best practices in both AWS and on-premises environments.

  • Collaborate with development teams to improve deployment processes, system reliability, and

Scalability.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer / Lead, with leadership skills.

  • Strong background with CI/CD pipelines in GitLab.

  • Solid experience with AWS services and on-premises solutions.

  • Hands-on expertise in VMware ESXi, networking, load balancers, and storage solutions.

  • Strong scripting and automation skills in Python and Bash.

  • Experience with Terraform (IaC) and Ansible (configuration management).

  • Proficiency in monitoring tools: Grafana, Prometheus, InfluxDB.

  • Experience with databases (MySQL, MongoDB) and Elasticsearch.

  • Familiarity with Kubernetes (advantage).

  • Strong knowledge of security standards and best practices for both cloud and on-prem.

Nice to Have

  • Experience building infrastructure from scratch.

  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC2, ISO, GDPR).

  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
