We are looking for a Technical Product Manager who is an engineer at heart but a product strategist in practice. You will own the roadmap for our backend infrastructure, APIs, and SDKs. You will lead the Platform Squad, the team responsible for the engine that powers our entire product. This is about designing the "Lego blocks" that our internal product squads—and eventually, the world's developers—will use to build the future of documents.

This is a unique "0-to-1" opportunity. You won't just be optimizing existing endpoints; you will be defining the interface of our company. Your work will directly determine how fast our internal teams can ship and how much external developers will love (or hate) building on top of us.

What You'll Do

  • Treat the Platform as a Product: You will own the strategy and roadmap for our backend infrastructure, APIs, and SDKs. You will define success metrics that prioritize performance, stability, and developer velocity.
  • Design World-Class APIs: You will drive the design of our public-facing APIs and SDKs. You ensure they are intuitive, consistent, and well-documented. You understand that a bad error message can lose a customer.
  • Obsess Over Developer Experience (DevEx):External: You will be the voice of the external developer. You will write documentation, build sample apps, and perhaps write the first few lines of the SDK yourself.
  • Internal: You will treat our internal feature squads as your "Customer Zero." You will identify their bottlenecks and build the tooling/infrastructure that makes them fly.
  • Lead the Platform Squad: Work side-by-side with backend engineers to turn abstract requirements into technical specs. You will manage the backlog, unblock the team, and make tough prioritization calls between "shipping features" and "paying down technical debt."
  • Navigate Pre-PMF Chaos: We are still figuring things out. You will need to be comfortable throwing away code, pivoting strategy based on market feedback, and wearing hats you didn't know you owned (QA, Tech Writer, Evangelist).
Requirements

What We're Looking For

  • Technical DNA: You have solid software engineering experience, preferably in backend or full-stack roles. You've written production code and can read an API response or a database schema without breaking a sweat.
  • API Design Experience: You understand REST, GraphQL, or gRPC not just as buzzwords, but as design choices. You know what makes an API clean and maintainable.
  • Empathy for Developers: You've felt the pain of bad documentation and clunky SDKs. You are passionate about solving that pain for others.
  • Startup Mindset: You are not looking for a 9-to-5 with a predefined playbook. You are proactive, high-agency, and comfortable making decisions with incomplete information.
  • Communication Powerhouse: You're a clear, precise thinker and communicator who can explain complex infrastructure challenges to the CEO and connect business goals to the backend engineers.

  • Experience building public APIs and/or developer tools.
  • Experience with our tech stack: [Go, AWS, Kubernetes…].
  • History of contributing to open-source projects or managing developer communities
