What's exciting about the role

Verifone is seeking an experienced
Systems Engineer
to support and enhance our global IT infrastructure. This role is responsible for maintaining secure, high-availability systems, implementing security patches, and driving backend infrastructure initiatives. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset to ensure the stability, scalability, and security of our platforms.

Key responsibilities:

• Maintain VMWare ESX and KVM environments
• Maintain and support Windows & Linux VMs
• Support Microsoft Azure Cloud environment.
• Implement, and support solutions such as Intune/legacy SCCM; Microsoft SCCM 2016, SQL Server Clustering, IIS, Active Directory, Capacity management, Change control, Storage management, Application processing, Network, and Security services for production and test environments.
• Work closely with product development teams and business management to set and achieve service level targets.
• Build processes for rapid problem detection and resolution including escalation policies used by network operations centers staff and incident response teams

Skills and Experience we desire

• Bachelor's degree in MIS, CIS, or a related technology field (or 10+ years of direct IT experience in lieu of a formal degree).
• 7+ years of professional experience in IT with 5-7 years of experience operating large-scale, high-availability, secure, redundant, and transaction-based systems.
• Relevant credentials such as Azure Administrator, MCSE, MCTS, MCITP, MCPD, or equivalent (preferred).
• Proven experience with Microsoft Windows Server (2022, 2019, 2016), IIS, SCCM, Active Directory, and SQL.
• Strong working knowledge across data center technologies, including Microsoft Azure Cloud, AWS, Windows, Rocky Linux, MS SQL Server database management, VMware, KVM, networking, clustering, and internet security.
• Skilled in ITIL processes such as incident management and change control.
• Strong background in backup, recovery, and disaster recovery methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with IIS, SQL Server management, and SQL clustering.
• Solid understanding of Information Security and Cybersecurity principles.
• Proficient in network protocols and troubleshooting.
