The Opportunity

We're seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team and work closely with the founder to scale our threat intelligence platform. This is a unique opportunity to have significant impact on a product that protects thousands of organizations from cyber threats.

You'll be responsible for building and maintaining the robust backend infrastructure that powers our real-time breach detection system, handling massive amounts of data from diverse sources across the web's darkest corners.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop high-performance backend services
  that process and analyze millions of breach records and threat intelligence data points
• Build scalable data pipelines
  to ingest, process, and store data from various sources including dark web forums, paste sites, and ransomware channels
• Optimize database performance
  using ClickHouse for analytics and time-series data at scale
• Implement robust API services
  using OpenResty/Nginx and Lua for high-throughput, low-latency requirements
• Develop Python-based microservices
  for data processing, threat analysis, and pattern recognition
• Ensure system reliability
  with proper monitoring, alerting, and incident response procedures
• Collaborate directly with the founder
  to shape product direction and technical architecture
• Maintain and optimize
  our Ubuntu-based infrastructure for maximum performance and security

Technical RequirementsMust-Have Skills

• 5+ years of backend development experience
  with production systems at scale
• Expert-level Python proficiency
  with experience in async programming, data processing, and API development
• Strong ClickHouse expertise
  including schema design, query optimization, and cluster management
• OpenResty/Nginx and Lua experience
  for building high-performance web services and request routing
• Ubuntu/Linux systems administration
  including performance tuning, security hardening, and troubleshooting
• Production experience
  with distributed systems, microservices architecture, and event-driven design

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Security/cybersecurity background
  with understanding of threat intelligence, OSINT, or breach analysis
• Experience with SSDB and RocksDB
  for key-value storage and caching strategies
• Dark web monitoring experience
  or familiarity with Tor networks and anonymous data sources
• Knowledge of web scraping
  techniques and anti-detection methods
• Experience with message queues
  (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis Streams)
• Container orchestration
  with Docker and Kubernetes
• Infrastructure as Code
  using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools
