Firewall Specialist – Leading Defense Organization

We are looking for an experienced
Firewall Specialist
to join our Information Security and Networking team in a leading defense organization.

Role Overview:

In this role, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and upgrading advanced Firewall systems, implementing information security policies, troubleshooting complex network and security issues, and leading projects for the deployment of new security solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ongoing management and operation of enterprise-grade Firewalls (Check Point, Fortinet, Palo Alto)
  • Performing system hardening and applying strict security standards
  • Monitoring, investigating, and responding to cybersecurity incidents and suspicious traffic
  • Designing, planning, and deploying advanced security solutions within organizational infrastructures
  • Close collaboration with Networking, Infrastructure, and SOC teams

Requirements:

  • At least 2–4 years of proven experience in managing and operating enterprise Firewalls
  • Strong knowledge of communication protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP/S, DNS, VPN)
  • Hands-on experience with NAT, VPN, QoS, Policies, and Rules configuration
  • Proficiency with at least one leading Firewall platform: Check Point / Palo Alto / Fortinet
  • Knowledge of security standards and regulations (ISO27001, NIST, GDPR) – an advantage
  • Experience in writing security design and policy documents – an advantage
  • Scripting skills (Bash / Python) – strong advantage

Education & Certifications:

  • B.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Systems
  • Professional certifications in Firewalls and Information Security (CCSE, PCNSE, NSE4) – strong advantage
