Shaare Zedek Medical Center, one of Israel's largest hospitals, provides care to more than 1,000,000 patients annually. We are seeking a Clinical Data Specialist to join our Research and Development Authority and support advanced initiative aimed to provide quick and intuitive access to clinical data for research purposes.

About This role

As a key member of our team, you will translate complex clinical research needs into structured data retrieval strategies that empower research and innovation. This role serves as a critical bridge between clinical and technical stakeholders. We are looking for a curious, driven, detail-oriented individual, with strong with problem solving and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret clinical research queries into clear technical specifications, including fields, codes, and data groupings.
  • Explore and analyze large-scale hospital databases, including tabular, free-text and imaging modalities.
  • Collaborate closely with IT professionals, physicians, researchers, and other hospital team members.
  • Systematically document specifications, queries, and methodologies to ensure consistency and knowledge sharing.
  • Support data-driven projects involving AI, NLP, and predictive analytics.
  • Design and execute SQL-based queries to extract relevant medical data from complex databases.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or other related field - Or equivalent practical experience, including relevant army service or completion of professional courses in related domains.
  • Proficiency in SQL and ability to work with complex medical databases.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness.
  • Excellent technical writing skills in both Hebrew and English.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, clinical coding systems, or EMR systems – an advantage
