About Snooze:

Snooze is a mobile game designed to transform how Gen Z and younger generations experience games. We combine fun gameplay with research-backed mindfulness exercises, fully integrated into the game rather than as add-ons. Players engage in challenges that help them reflect on their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors addressing issues like boredom, loneliness, and self-doubt while having a meaningful and enjoyable experience. Snooze allows users to grow emotionally and gain personal insights naturally, all while having fun.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Own and lead the software architecture, ensuring a scalable
    and
    maintainable codebase.
  • Be hands-on in development: write code, implement features, review work, and make technical decisions.
  • Serve as the key technical pillar of the team: set standards, mentor developers, and foster professional growth.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders, contributing to strategic product and technology decisions.
  • Act as a bridge between technical execution and product vision, helping shape and drive the roadmap.

Overall Objectives:

  • Lead Software Architecture:
    Design and maintain code architecture, guide infrastructure decisions, and evaluate new technologies to ensure a solid technical foundation.
  • Guide and Mentor the Team:
    Support developers in day-to-day tasks, enforce best practices, and provide technical guidance.
  • Strategic Decision-Making & Stakeholder Collaboration:
    Work with stakeholders to inform development priorities, software architecture, and technical strategy.

Qualifications:
Technical Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in Unity3D, C#, and game development pipelines.
  • Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and scalable systems.
  • Experience with performance optimization, memory management, and debugging complex systems.
  • Familiarity with game engine integrations (physics, animation, networking, UI systems).
  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.

Experience:

  • Proven track record as a Unity developer with hands-on experience shipping commercial games.
  • Experience leading or mentoring a development team.
  • Experience making strategic technical decisions in a game or software product context.
  • Exposure to cross-functional collaboration with design, product, and other stakeholders.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to mentor and inspire team members, setting professional standards.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in technical and strategic contexts.
  • Passion for games, player experience, and translating product vision into technical reality.

Education (Optional but Preferred):

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
