Business Development Operations

The Business Development Operations is a unique and critical role at the heart of our go-to-market engine. This is a hybrid position for a highly organized, tech-savvy, and strategic operator who can seamlessly switch between high-level strategy, data-driven process optimization, and executive-level support. You will act as the right hand to our business development leadership, ensuring the team operates at peak efficiency while also providing the administrative and organizational backbone for key initiatives. You are part-strategist, part-technologist, part-analyst, and part-enabler, responsible for everything from managing executive calendars to architecting the sales tech stack and deriving insights from performance data.
What You'll Do:
Revenue & GTM Operations (40%)
- Process Optimization: Analyze and improve the entire business development lifecycle, from lead generation and qualification to closed loop reporting with the portfolio companies to ongoing relationship management.
- Tech Stack Management: Own and manage the business development team's tech stack (CRM, sales engagement platforms, data enrichment tools, etc.), ensuring seamless integration and adoption.
- GTM Vendor Management: Own and manage a list of Team8 Approved Vendors who will deliver best in class tools and services to portfolio companies.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs). Provide actionable insights to the leadership team on pipeline health, team performance, and forecasting.
- Sales Enablement: Equip the business development team with the tools, content, and data they need to be successful. Develop and maintain a central repository of resources.
Chief of Staff & Strategic Initiatives (30%)
- Strategic Planning: Work closely with leadership to develop and execute strategic initiatives. Act as a thought partner, providing data-driven recommendations.
- Project Management: Oversee and manage key cross-functional projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Communication: Serve as a key liaison between the business development team, pod teams and platform teams, ensuring alignment and clear communication.
- Meeting & Offsite Facilitation: Prepare agendas, presentations, and pre-read materials for key meetings. Drive follow-up actions and ensure accountability.
Executive Support (30%)
- Calendar & Schedule Management: Proactively manage the calendars of the business development leadership, prioritizing meetings and resolving conflicts.
- Manage Inbound Delegations: Proactively manage and coordinate reception of delegations visiting Team8 offices with the most relevant agenda including partners, and portfolio company presentations.
- Administrative Support: Handle a variety of administrative tasks, including preparing documents, presentations, and correspondence.
- Gatekeeping: Act as a gatekeeper, triaging inbound requests and ensuring the leadership's time is focused on the highest-priority activities.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Experience:
- 4+ years of experience in a role that combines strategic, operational, and administrative responsibilities. This could be in revenue operations, sales operations, business operations, or as a chief of staff in a fast-growing tech company.
- Proven experience managing a sales and marketing tech stack (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, SalesLoft, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations.
- Experience supporting C-level or VP-level executives.
Skills:
- Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of CRM and marketing automation systems. Ability to learn new technologies quickly. Basic scripting or SQL knowledge is a plus.
- Analytical & Data-Driven: You live and breathe data. You are an expert in Excel/Google Sheets and are comfortable with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker).
- Exceptional Organization & Time Management: You can juggle multiple priorities and stakeholders without letting anything slip through the cracks.
- Proactive & Takes Initiative: You don't wait to be told what to do. You are constantly looking for ways to improve processes and add value.
- Excellent Communication & Interpersonal Skills: You can communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization, from individual contributors to senior executives.
- High Level of Discretion: You will be privy to sensitive information and must be able to maintain confidentiality.
- Strategic Thinker: You can see the big picture and understand how the details fit into the overall strategy.
