Role Description

This is an on-site full-time role for a System Engineering Technician focused on performing experiments, developing test setup automation and maintenance, and results analysis.

  • Not intended as entry-level for BSc graduates
  • Employment via an external HR contractor

Responsibilities

  • Configure and operate LiDAR units and test equipment
  • Develop/maintain custom LiDAR test equipment and automation: LiDAR Python API, gimbal, cart movement
  • Data capture automation, processing and visualization in Python
  • Plan and execute experiments and test drives under varied environmental conditions and test scenarios
  • Present and document results to stakeholders
  • Troubleshoot issues with firmware, system engineering and optics teams
  • Experimental and analysis support of version and feature release process

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with lab test equipment
  • Proficiency in Python for data acquisition/analysis
  • Strong problem-solving and attention to detail
  • (Advantage) Experience with optical or RF systems
