We're building a space where IT experts connect, learn, and champion each other. We need a seasoned Social Media and Community Manager to join our team and be our customer-facing brand ambassador. Someone who isn't just moderating, but sparking conversations, bringing people together, and giving IT pros a voice in shaping the future of IT. 

What you'll do

As our Social Media & Community Manager, you'll be the voice of Atera across all community and social channels. You'll grow our gated community of IT pros, launch meaningful programs, and build connections that make Atera more than just an IT platform.

Here's what you'll own:

Community & Social Channel Ownership

  • Plan, create, and publish content on platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, Twitter, and LinkedIn
  • Grow the user community and drive engagement through structured programs and organic conversations.
  • Manage discussions, monitor group sentiment, and keep the conversation flowing with engaging, industry-relevant content.
  • Monitor engagement metrics and adjust strategies accordingly
  • Collaborate with design and marketing teams to align messaging, track trends, and competitor activity
  • Respond to comments and messages in a timely, brand-appropriate tone.

Cross-Team Partnership

  • Be the bridge between Customer Success, Marketing, Support, and Product teams.
  • Align community goals with company-wide marketing KPIs, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor and report on customer feedback, providing valuable insights back to the Product team.
  • Translate product updates and new releases into stories the community can rally around.
  • Influencers & Advocacy
  • Foster relationships with top contributors, champions, industry professionals, and influencers in IT.
  • Run and expand Atera's Champions Program, empowering advocates to shine.
  • Build and manage influencer partnerships that elevate Atera's visibility in IT communities.
Requirements

What We're Looking For

You're not just a community manager, you're a community builder with vision and grit. You know how to connect the dots between people, content, and strategy, and you thrive in environments where you can own and grow something meaningful.

Must-haves:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Social Media and/or Community Manager (ideally in SaaS or IT).
  • Proven experience launching and growing successful community initiatives.
  • Native English speaker with outstanding communication skills (clear, approachable, and engaging).
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to track and report on key metrics.
  • Ability to align community strategy with marketing and business goals.
  • Strong collaboration skills — you can work seamlessly with marketing, product, and leadership teams.

Nice to have:

  • Background in IT, systems administration, or network engineering.
  • Knowledge of online marketing channels, SEO, and digital engagement strategies.
  • Prior experience building advocacy or influencer programs.
