Windward's research leverages geospatial and textual data to model vessel behavior and maritime risks, translating these findings into actionable insights and measurable customer value.

If you are a problem solver with passion for solving complex real data problems, deep understanding of data science and experience taking projects from ideation to production, we would be happy to meet you

What will you do?

  • Develop and implement a variety of models (e.g., LLM, predictive models, classifiers, time series) on both public and proprietary data
  • Lead projects from ideation to production, ensuring solutions are effective in real-world scenarios and monitored for quality over time
  • Collaborate with product managers to understand problems and define solutions
  • Contribute to the research environment in order to improve the flexibility and quality of delivery

Who are you?

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in implementing machine learning algorithms
  • Strong understanding of ML concepts, including deep learning
  • Proficient in Python and experienced in bringing ideas to production, including coding, testing, and monitoring
  • Excellent communication skills and working fluency in English
  • Pragmatic problem solver who knows to choose the most practical solution not the most popular one

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience with transformer models and GenAI
  • Experience working with geospatial data or time series analysis
  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g. Spark)
  • Familiarity with model deployment and experiment tracking tools (e.g., LangFuse/TorchServe)
