VP R&D – AI / Computer Vision / Robotics

We are searching a VP R&D for a fast-growing AI startup developing an AI-based computer vision software.

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced and inspiring R&D leader who can guide a talented team of engineers in software, computer vision, and AI.

The VP R&D will lead product and technology development end-to-end — from design to implementation — and play a strategic role on the management team, reporting directly to the CEO.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and expand a multidisciplinary R&D team (~15 software, system, and algorithm engineers)

Define and execute the company's R&D strategy in alignment with business goals

Introduce and implement cutting-edge technologies to drive innovation and competitive advantage

Manage full development lifecycle for products and features

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Product, Sales, Marketing, and Manufacturing)

Manage subcontractors and external development resources

Qualifications

Proven leadership and team management experience (7+ years in R&D leadership)

Deep understanding of Software, Computer Vision, AI, and algorithm development

Advantage: experience in software for manufacturing or robotic environments

Startup mindset — hands-on, agile, and execution-oriented

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering
