We ship fast, own outcomes, and obsess over secure, low-latency paths between users and the things they need.This role is for a seasoned builder who can own hard problems end-to-end: architecture, code, rollout, and long-term operability. You'll set technical direction, mentor senior engineers, and land changes that move key SLOs - while keeping security non-negotiable.ResponsibilitiesLead design and delivery of high-throughput, low-latency backend services powering our Zero Trust platform (policy evaluation, session brokering, identity flows, audit pipelines)Evolve a globally distributed, multi-tenant architecture with strong isolation, graceful degradation, and zero-downtime deploysDrive performance engineering: profiling, load testing, and capacity planningRaise the bar on security by designDefine SLIs/SLOs and build the telemetry (metrics, traces, logs) and runbooks to ensure reliability and accountabilityMentor engineers; shape code quality, design practices, and incident cultureRequirements8-12+ years of experience building production backends and leading complex, distributed system projectsB.Sc. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related fieldStrong systems thinking and ability to navigate trade-offs (latency vs. consistency, safety vs. speed)Ability to turn ambiguous problem spaces into clear, incremental roadmaps and deliver themEnjoy mentoring and raising the bar without ceremony or egoTreat security and reliability as first-class features, not afterthoughtsHow We WorkOwnership > bureaucracy: Direct access to product/security leadership and real scopeOperate what you build: Humane on-call, blameless postmortems, automation over heroicsGrowth & impact: Your decisions shape our platform and the security of customers who depend on usNice to HaveLanguages: Go (primary) - experience with Rust/Java/C++ or similar is highly transferableInfra: AWS, DockerData: on-prem data storage solutions
