About the Role

We're looking for a Generative AI Product Manager to lead the design and growth of Windward's next-generation AI reasoning and conversational systems. The products that transform how maritime professionals access intelligence, analyze data, and make commercial decisions.

You'll bridge deep user understanding with cutting-edge AI capability: defining how large language models, retrieval pipelines, and multi-agent orchestration can solve real-world problems in trading and shipping. You'll work closely with AI engineers, data scientists, and industry experts to create intuitive, explainable, and high-impact AI experiences.

This is a hands-on, high-ownership role, ideal for someone who wants to shape how Generative AI is applied to one of the world's most complex and data-rich industries. You'll report to the Director of Product Management, Trading & Shipping.

What You'll Do

  • Own the roadmap for Windward's GenAI products, defining how LLMs, retrieval systems, and multi-agent orchestration deliver tangible user value.
  • Translate user problems into AI reasoning flows: identify where conversational, autonomous, or assistive AI can replace manual workflows.
  • Design LLM-powered interactions: prompting, grounding, and context management to ensure factual, relevant, and explainable responses.
  • Collaborate closely with AI engineers and data scientists to prototype, test, and deploy models integrated with Windward's proprietary maritime data.
  • Work with users and domain experts (traders, operators, charterers) to understand workflows, pain points, and decision logic.
  • Continuously validate and tune outputs using metrics like reasoning accuracy, latency, and perceived usefulness.
  • Shape product UX for AI: conversational interfaces, chat-memory design, and visual representations of reasoning (maps, charts, summaries).
  • Guide go-to-market and adoption by articulating value to customers and internal stakeholders.

Who Are You?

  • Deep understanding of Generative AI systems: experience building or managing products that use LLMs (e.g., GPT, Claude, Mistral, Llama) for reasoning, retrieval, or automation.
  • Hands-on experience with prompt design, RAG, and orchestration frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, or equivalent).
  • Able to bridge technical complexity and user empathy, understanding both how AI works and how people think, decide, and interact.
  • Comfortable working closely with AI engineers, data scientists, and UX teams to turn experimental capabilities into real products.
  • Strong analytical and storytelling skills:  you can translate ambiguous problem spaces into structured product strategies.
  • Industry familiarity with trading, chartering, or logistics is a plus: curiosity and the ability to learn fast are essential.
  • 4+ years of experience in product management or a similar role in AI, data, or platform products.
