Job Description

As a Backend Developer on Wix's Document Management team, you'll be at the core of our Editor platform, where you'll build and maintain the scalable backend systems that power 192+ million users' websites. In your day-to-day you will:

  • Develop and maintain highly scalable backend systems supporting 192+ million users across multiple Editor types
  • Create and optimize JSON definitions that power live site rendering and user experiences
  • Build robust business logic solutions for all Wix editor functionalities and workflows
  • Design and expose APIs to verticals and editors for seamless document manipulation
  • Implement high RPM services while managing complex CPU and memory optimization requirements
  • Deploy production-ready code daily using , Scala, and serverless architectures
  • Practice test-driven development and maintain clean, maintainable code standards across microservices

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of backend development experience with strong proficiency in production environments
  • Fluent English written and spoken communication skills for technical collaboration
  • Deep understanding of microservices architecture, scalability principles, and high RPM service optimization
  • Hands-on experience with server-side technologies like , Scala, and serverless architectures
  • Strong communication skills, proactive problem-solving approach, and ability to collaborate effectively in agile development teams
  • Experience with complex CPU/memory optimization techniques – an advantage

Additional Information

The Document Management team develops and maintains the core backend infrastructure powering Wix's Editor platform for 192+ million users. We architect scalable systems that manage document data structures, generate JSON definitions for website rendering, and provide robust APIs for document manipulation across all editor types. Operating with continuous delivery and TDD practices, we build high-performance, reliable services that enable seamless website creation and editing experiences at massive scale.
