The Opportunity:
We are excited to offer an exceptional opportunity for an experienced case manager within our Life Insurance platform. This professional will advise our clients through the process. Our clients include RIAs, BD's, P&C and Employee Benefit professionals, CPA and Law Firms, private equity firms, high and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and corporations all counting on us to provide best in class solutions and experience within the insurance space.
The case manager maintains primary ownership of cases during the submission, placement and underwriting process which requires engaging in frequent communication and coordination between agents, carriers, and internal resources, such the underwriting department, case designers, etc.. Responsible for setting the advisors or clients' expectations appropriately and providing world-class customer service experience based on our clients' expectations throughout the service and underwriting process.
This position is a role in strategy and execution, including development, positioning and creativity. As a successful team member, you will be responsible for assisting in developing strategies, planning and coordinating efforts, communicating plans to those involved, and building awareness and positioning.
What to expect:
Our licensed in-house case managers are proactive and available for all our clients to review and submit applications, and negotiate with the insurance carriers to obtain the best possible offers. Your day will be spent following up on cases, speaking with underwriters, problem-solving and trouble-shooting, and communicating back to our clients. You must be well-organized and have an exceptional ability to multi¬task. Strong computer and time management skills as well as dedication to detail are crucial to your success with our firm.
Because of the dynamics in the insurance industry, you must be able to learn new concepts quickly, enjoy communicating and thrive meeting and exceeding goals. You must also feel comfortable receiving feedback on your work and coaching from the management team. Position Responsibilities
• Manage the application process from submission through policy placement.
• Order and review underwriting requirements including Attending Physician Statements (APS), Paramed Exams, supplemental forms and other medical requirements as required.
• Evaluate medical history with the underwriting team, financial information and negotiate potential carrier approval.
• Conducts daily follow-up with carriers on all outstanding underwriting requirements
• Organizes and prioritizes the workload to ensure the case is processed, issued and placed in a timely manner while maintaining frequent communication with the client.
• Utilize internal AMS to document work activity and communication on all assigned cases
• Responsible for reviewing issued insurance policy for accuracy before sending it to the client.
• Follows up with agents on policy delivery requirements, including application amendments, health statements, insurance premium, etc. to ensure the policy is placed within the specified timeframe
• Taking initiative to review other-than-applied-for policies to determine best placement or alternatives
• Demonstrate a solid and consistent technical proficiency of underwriting guidelines to ensure cases are closed in a timely and efficient manner
• Maintains an in-depth technical knowledge of medical underwriting practices, and current brokerage processes in order to help our clients process business in the most efficient manner.
• Support key external and internal clients
• Compliance: Ensure all recommendations and transactions comply with regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Proactively work with and respond to clients professionally.
Desired Skills and Experience Requirements
• Minimum 3 years experience in life insurance services.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
• Experience with Agency Integrator, and ipipeline preferred
• Self-starter with ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Adept at excelling in a fast-paced environment with changing business priorities and technological needs
• Comprehensive understanding of the life insurance industry and individual life products.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Enthusiastic and positive approach to problem-solving and client service
• Must be able to innovative, pro-actively manage time and follow through to complete tasks
• Proven experience working in client support, relationship management within the financial services industry
• Advanced computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office products and CRM
• Highly organized and project management skills required; ability to shift and reorganize in order to accommodate change
• Ability to portray confidence, persuasiveness, and credibility over the phone, in virtual meetings and potentially in person.
COMPENSATION:
The national average salary for this role is $ $ in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, skills, training, certifications and education, while also considering internal equity and market data.
