Role Description

We are looking for a passionate Quantum Error Correction (QEC) Scientist to join our
Algorithms & Applications Team
. In this role, you will design, implement, and optimize quantum error correction strategies that directly shape the performance of our superconducting qubit processors. Working at the intersection of design, theory, and experiment, you will collaborate across hardware, software, and applications to drive true hardware-aware co-design.

What you'll do:

  • Evaluate and implement state-of-the-art quantum error correction codes tailored to
    superconducting quantum processors.
  • Translate hardware constraints to algorithmic requirements and guide hardware design with QEC needs.
  • Develop and benchmark decoders under realistic noise models and guide improvements in calibration and control.
  • Collaborate with hardware teams to integrate QEC into the control stack and system architecture.
  • Publish findings in academic journals and present at key conferences.
  • Stay current with developments in quantum information science and identify opportunities to integrate them into our stack.

Position Requirements:

  • PhD in Quantum Information, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field (or MSc with 2+ years of relevant experience).
  • Demonstrated expertise in QEC (e.g. surface/color codes, qLDPC, stabilizer formalism, decoding algorithms).
  • Proficiency in Python, C++, or equivalent OOP language.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in interdisciplinary teams (English or Hebrew).

Preferred:

  • Experience with quantum hardware, especially superconducting qubits (hardware‑level programming a plus).
  • Familiarity with lattice surgery, magic state injection, and related advanced QEC schemes.
  • Track record of publications or open-source contributions in quantum computing.
