Position Summary

We're looking for an Engineering Manager to run day-to-day operations for a fully remote, globally distributed engineering organization (DevOps, Backend/Frontend, and QA). You'll be responsible for guiding talented engineers, ensuring high-quality delivery, and scaling the team as our platform grows. You'll keep projects moving with urgency and quality—staying on top of every commitment, surfacing risks early, driving clear communication, and ensuring teams deliver on time. When timelines slip, you will coordinate recovery plans and lead the push to meet original commitments, including organizing extended hours during critical launches.

This is a hands-on leadership role — ideal for someone who thrives on combining project management, people management, mentoring, and process optimization.

Responsibilities

• Lead a cross-functional team of software engineers, ensuring clarity in goals, timelines, and ownership.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, career growth plans, and performance feedback.
• Own delivery — ensuring projects are shipped on time with high quality and measurable impact.
• Establish and refine team processes for sprint planning, documentation, and release cycles.
• Partner with recruiting to attract and onboard top engineering talent.
• Contribute to company-wide initiatives for improving developer experience, testing, and reliability.
• Maintain source-of-truth plans (roadmaps, milestones, burn-down, critical paths), enforce SLAs, and run tight daily standups with crisp blockers and next steps.
• Proactively track every task to closure; escalate risks before they become delays; coordinate recovery plans and surge capacity when needed.
• Ensure engineering is consistently available to Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Leadership; triage inbound requests with clear priorities and ETAs.
• Lead retrospectives with action items, tighten feedback loops, and remove systemic blockers to ship faster with fewer defects.

Key Qualifications

• 5+ years managing software teams (people + projects) in remote, globally distributed environments.
• Proven track record of leading high-performing teams in fast-paced, product-driven environments.
• Strong technical judgment; comfortable reviewing PRs at a high level, scoping tickets, and challenging estimates.
• Understanding of scalable architectures, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Excellent communication skills — able to provide clarity, context, and motivation across remote teams.
• Experience balancing velocity and quality, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Comfortable working in startup environments with high autonomy and shifting priorities.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in Agentic AI, or LLM-based product development.
• Background in enterprise SaaS, platform engineering, or SRE.
• Exposure to early-stage, VC-backed startups or global remote teams.
• Familiarity with modern frameworks: FastAPI, React, , or similar.
• Experience scaling engineering orgs (hiring, process, and mentorship).
