Role Overview

We are looking for a
Fraud Product Analyst
who will be at the intersection of fraud analysis and product innovation. In this role, you will analyze transaction data to detect fraudulent activity, uncover emerging fraud trends, and translate these insights into actionable product improvements. You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and customer-facing teams to ensure Paygilant's solutions stay one step ahead of evolving threats.

Responsibilities

  • Fraud Analysis:
    Analyze transactional data to detect and investigate fraudulent activity, including account takeover, payment fraud, and synthetic identities.
  • Pattern Recognition:
    Apply advanced analytical techniques to identify new and emerging fraud trends and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Product Enhancement:
    Partner with product managers and engineers to improve detection models and product features, leveraging insights from fraud trends and customer feedback.
  • Data Interpretation:
    Interpret complex data sets, extract actionable insights, and present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Risk Assessment:
    Evaluate the effectiveness of existing fraud prevention measures and propose adjustments or new features to strengthen defenses.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    Work closely with colleagues across product, engineering, and customer success to align fraud strategies with product roadmap priorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in fraud analysis, risk management, or related roles, ideally in financial services, fintech, or cybersecurity.
  • Proficiency in SQL and at least one analytical or programming language (Python, R, or similar).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to bridge technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with machine learning techniques and statistical modeling is an advantage.
  • English – native or bilingual proficiency; Spanish – professional working proficiency is a plus.
