Development Expert for Sustainable Growth

The UN Development Coordination Office is seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as a Development Expert for Sustainable Growth. This role is crucial in supporting countries in achieving their development priorities and the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In this position, you will be responsible for planning, facilitating, and consolidating evidence-based SDG analysis to support a shared understanding by the UN Country Team of sustainable development trends, challenges, and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide substantive advice on innovative economic and SDG policies to Resident Coordinators and UNCTs, as well as to national counterparts in government and other relevant partners.
- Coordinate the development of new generation SDG programs with a strong investment orientation and focus on acceleration towards achieving the SDGs.
- Plan and direct SDG knowledge generation and management, including researching, analyzing, and presenting best practices and lessons learned from implementation of UNCT projects and programs.
- Liaise and engage with the Palestinian Authority aid policy and aid coordination platforms, as well as other interlocutors, including the World Bank, IMF, and relevant Palestinian parties on SDGs, economic policies, and other issues.
- Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in economics, sustainable development, public policy, business, or public administration, social sciences, education, or related area.
- A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in sustainable development policy, economic analysis, or project/programme management in the context of development cooperation or related area.
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic is desirable.
