Transformation Specialist for Sustainable Development

The UN Development Coordination Office is seeking a Transformation Specialist for Sustainable Development to join our team. As a key member of our office, you will play a critical role in supporting the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals.

This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the achievement of the SDGs. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, facilitating, and consolidating evidence-based analysis to support the shared understanding of sustainable development trends, challenges, and opportunities in the OPT.

They will provide substantive advice on innovative economic and SDG policies to Resident Coordinators and the UN Country Team, as well as to national counterparts in government and other relevant partners.

1. Plan, facilitate, and consolidate evidence-based SDG analysis to support the shared understanding of sustainable development trends, challenges, and opportunities in the OPT.

2. Provide substantive advice on innovative economic and SDG policies to Resident Coordinators and the UN Country Team, as well as to national counterparts in government and other relevant partners.

3. Coordinate the development by the UNCT of new-generation integrated SDG programmes with a strong investment orientation and focus on acceleration towards achieving the SDGs.

4. Plan and direct SDG knowledge generation and management.

5. Liaise and engage with the Palestinian Authority aid policy and aid coordination platforms and other interlocutors, including the World Bank, IMF, and relevant PA, banking, and economic institutions.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in economics, sustainable development, public policy, business, or public administration, social sciences, education, or related area.

• A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in sustainable development policy, economic analysis, or project/programme management in the context of development cooperation or related area.

• Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of Arabic is desirable.
