As a seasoned FinOps specialist, you will be instrumental in shaping our cloud financial strategy and ensuring its seamless execution.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud platforms, particularly AWS, as well as a solid grasp of financial principles. Proficiency in Python and SQL is essential, with relevant certifications a plus.

You will work closely with engineering and operations teams to develop and implement cost-saving initiatives, leveraging automation to optimize cloud resource management.

A strong communicator and team player, you will educate and train colleagues on FinOps best practices, promoting financial accountability and fostering collaboration across departments.

With a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role, you will lead change management initiatives within cloud or IT transformations, guiding teams and influencing best practices in cloud financial management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze, monitor, and report on cloud usage and expenditures, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement cloud cost optimization strategies, ensuring alignment between technical activities and financial objectives
  • Implement and maintain financial governance and controls across cloud platforms, utilizing automation for cost trend optimization, anomaly detection, and accurate forecasting
  • Work closely with procurement and vendors to manage cloud costs, ensuring effective negotiation and alignment with organizational financial goals
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years as a FinOps Engineer or in a similar role
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS essential, Azure and GCP a plus) and financial principles
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL; relevant certifications preferred
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with experience in change management and cross-departmental collaboration
